Freedom isn’t something that can be held down by a singular definition; it’s more comparable to a person’s perspective as an individual. My personal definition of the word falls along the lines of an entity or piece being thrown openly into the world without protection or restraints. This entity is not restricted to a person or animal exclusively; to me, freedom can be granted to an idea or open space as well. I don’t think that any specific experience in itself led me toward this way of thinking, but rather it was a result of my constant journey into young adulthood and the new knowledge that I’ve gained over time from friends, relatives, and teachers that I’ve met. This idea in particular is especially important to me as I feel that it’s a personal reflection of my growth as a person, as well as a student and older brother, and gives me a new insight into life.
